Ever wonder why kids aren’t allowed to take Algebra in the 8th grade in San Francisco? And what were the unintended consequences of that policy? This OpEd offers some common sense lessons. My view: if a kid likes math, do everything to encourage it!

I took this pledge. Open air drug markets in San Francisco can’t be tolerated. We must arrest and prosecute the dealers of deadly fentanyl. To save lives, we must offer both harm reduction and recovery services for users suffering from addiction — and compel it when necessary.

Sign the @GrowSF petition demanding the arrest and prosecution of fentanyl dealers. Thank you @LondonBreed, @JoelEngardio, @SupStefani, @mattdorsey, @RafaelMandelman, and @Ahsha_Safai for supporting our call for action! actionnetwork.org/petitions/arre

If San Francisco continues scaling up Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) at the rate we have over the past six years, we will surpass $11 billion in annual spending on PSH in 18 years. But we’re facing down a $727 million deficit - we will have no choice but to do more with less.

Are you interested in serving on the United Democratic Club board this coming year? Do you want to help steer the largest Democratic Club in San Francisco as we lay the critical foundation in 2023 for what will be a massive election year in 2024?

Dean Preston's longstanding record of killing SF housing shows why his latest stunt is performative politics as usual. nimby.report/preston

Not only are projects suppose to go out for bid, Preston led the way in delaying the original housing proposal (which is now infeasible). sfexaminer.com/our_sections/f
