This is the world’s second longest railway freight route (the first being Yiwu to Madrid which is an extra 500 miles), and was opened in 2017. A container ship takes 30 – 45 days to make the same journey.

It’s truly remarkable to imagine what this train has seen, as it passes through China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Belgium, France, and finally the UK. Hopefully one landmark on its journey this time was my gleeful face
