Super day for a trip to Vulci: positively balmy!

Etruscan tombs and a babbling brook. I like to think the poor lighting adds to the bucolic melancholy, though it may just be a dodgy photo.

On yesterday's Vulci trip I dropped into the Archeological Museum at Castello dalla Badia. Small & super Tues-Sun 9-5 winter, summer 9-7.

There was also exhibition on at the Vulci museum of pieces found in the Mithraeum. Large statue (of which a replica is displayed on site).

Also this fab smaller piece with bobbles on the back to recreate the cave where Mithras was born.
The lady at the ticket desk gave me this v well thought out catalogue.
