That's my point. There is overlap. I'm not saying that progressives are liberals or liberals are progressives, but I am saying there are liberal progressives.

True. guess I see progressives as (according to your terminology) defending the status quo. By all means I don't think that they aren't helpful. They are working insider the system the best they can, but the system has a lot of inertia.
