We are saddened to share news of the passing of Dr. Steven Meshnick, a professor of epidemiology at our School. “Apart from being a stellar academician and good citizen, Steve was, above all, a mensch, a person of integrity and honor,” one colleague said.

Dr. Ralph Baric is newly inducted into the National Academy of Sciences — one of the highest distinctions for a scientist or engineer in the United States. The is known for visionary research on infectious viruses — particularly coronaviruses.

We honor the life of Dr. Jo Anne Earp, professor emerita and past chair in our Department of Health Behavior. She was known for her fierceness and integrity, high impact research and incredible devotion to mentoring. Dr. Earp passed away on Nov. 18.
