I'm disappointed that cancel culture is infecting and dividing the software community, the one place where we should be able to escape cultural and political agendas and focus on craftsmanship. Cancel culture found its way in through the Trojan horse of CoC, it brings only drama

It's not just cancel culture... I've argued with people who are literally advocating for restrictive licenses based on politics of the user... I mean literally restricting the source code... There is massive cognitive dissonance happening here.

I really want to hear from these "No" votes. There's a reason (hard fought, hard won) that concepts like due process exist. If there are legitimate reasons for undermining them in public view, I'd like to hear it.

If someone really is guilty of a serious offense - and real harassment, carried to the point of being a reasonable threat to another person is a criminal offense - I do think people should be publicly informed of that.

The problem I see is, simply, that the Linux Foundation has decided being a Trump supporter or being civil to Trump supporters is a CoC violation. But I don't think burying that in secrecy helps anything.

I voted No because your letter is misleading and leaves out information. Basically, the premise of your letter is wrong.
