It's not absolute levels of wealth or poverty that makes us unhappy, but relative wealth and poverty. The dark side of human nature is that you'll be more happy if the people around you are the same or poorer than you than if they are richer than you. Explains a lot.
That is an accomplishment if true. Have you always held this belief and has it ever been put through the test? I find that I'm less envious on Twitter, especially when anon, but Instagram is definitely a different beast.

I think so. I was brought up to think that I was ‘something’ and that’s never left. In terms of tests, I guess we face them on a daily basis? I haven’t really considered that before and truly can’t recall the last time I looked at anyone with envy. I’m sure I have though.

Do you happen to have a religious upbringing?

Not particularly. I went to a Church of England primary school but that actually meant very little in terms of the schooling. I was christened but we only went to church as a family for weddings.
