Scrap the second word, and the tweet is spot on. Quality of life is what it's all about. Health, (friends and) family and employment are the primitives that shape QoL. You gotta balance them out. It's hard to enjoy employment if you're physically or mentally unfit.

If work will negatively impact those things, then maybe the person isn't in a place where they can work (or work that specific job)

Glad to know I am not the only one. ChatGPT is excellent, but the rhetoric about programming feels overblown. The one time I used code from it for something non-trivial, I had to spend a day fixing mistakes I had overlooked.
