This is a terrible decision based off a hit piece by ESPN. Just look at the number of players, former staff, etc. coming to Durkin's defense in this situation.

Are coaches reviewed annually by players? Because if they aren’t they totally should be. A regular survey of, “how is it going? Do you like your coach? Do you see them as a mentor? Are you learning?” Wouldn’t be a bad move given universities are EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

It seems quite apparent that the athletic trainers/staff did not do their job when Jordan McNair first experienced problems. Any well trained athletic trainer should have been able to diagnose heatstroke and got him in an ice bath right away. Feel sorry for the McNair family.
