Odd that cannabidiol directly activates 5-HT1A serotonin receptor. People who smoke pot seem to have a better insulin profile despite higher intake of carbs... maybe its metabolic impacts on mitochondria via insulin effects via the pancreas? Just saying.https://twitter.com/TweetingAutism/status/1019896023534186496 …

Non-alcoholic fatty acid liver disease. Whats that? https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1550413116000371 …

What a weird result. its almost like this stuff is related. And that nobody is looking for it.http://doi.org/10.17925/EE.2008.04.02.70 …

An common anti-seizure medication causes non-alcoholic fatty liver disease? I wonder how this stuff is related... https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0920121109001181 …

Oh, of course it does. VPA acts on Serotonin Receptors. Funny that. "VPA exposure is not due to a general effect of VPA on this signaling cascade, but due to the up-regulation of 5-HT2A receptor number." https://scholars.uthscsa.edu/en/publications/effect-of-valproic-acid-on-serotonin-2a-receptor-signaling-in-c6- …

Dysgeusia is fascinating. Why do taste sensors seem to show up in parts of the body that deal w/ chemical concentrations, microbial management, or have a high need to maintain homeostatic / immune responses? We have taste receptors in our brain, ovaries/testes, pancreas, & anus.

Hypothesis: early in growth, pancreas sets up centrifugal governor-like system that mirrors and help simulates + respond to larger homeostatic systems in body. It develops like light organ in bobtail squid & Type 1 diabetes is when it fails to bootstrap.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ivMSCi-Y2Q …

The bobtail squid's light organ doens't develop if the bacteria is not present. I think this is partly why stuff like allergic reactions and autism seem to be associated with soil bacteria and interactions with farm animals in childhood. Also why Type 1 is linked with C-sections.
Show this thread -
Type 1 is linked w/ C-sections, and Type 2 is linked with C-sections, and Autism is linked with C-sections. All are linked with stress and diet in the parent. Stress/diet manifests with microbial changes via the gut/brain axis and impacts vaginal bacteria during pregnancy.

We are seeing cascade failures in the internal insulin / gut microbiome regulatory networks that mainfest in different diseases depending on how your body responds to various downstream hormones.

Just so happens, I wanted to fix my sleep schedule. I was reading about a rare theory on human hibernation, and it reminded me about the serotonin/micochondrial metabolic stuff I learned about w/ my autism studies. Maybe we can do it via our microbiome?https://mastodon.social/@ultimape/100389688688019030 …
