Jeff “Suborbital” Bezos, probably didn’t have a choice. New Glenn is probably way behind schedule. But more surprisingly he didn’t choose Vulcan which uses BE4 engines.

It’s 2 years behind schedule, about as much as starship, both programs began in 2012 with engine dev, moved to vehicle design in 2015-16, new Glenn is scheduled to launch at the end of 2022, probably within a year of starships first commercial flight

How much faith is Amazon showing in their own product by not going Vulcan?
-
They have sold over 30 Vulcan launches already so I’m guessing they want to get them up sooner than later and ULA has atlas’s available still

They have around 20 available still, Vulcan has over 30 on the books already so Amazon probably just wants to get some up in orbit
