Actually no, he simply believes that people who have not been convicted of anything should not be jailed for months or years on end because they’re too poor to afford bail. Whereas a rich person accused of the same crime can pay their way out of pretrial detention!

Actually if you believe in redemption and forgiveness you understand humans better and it’s clear that some people can’t be rehabilitated but for those that can rehabilitate deserve a chance to make amends and contribute to society.

Is there another side to this? Is being locked up forever solve this? I just have a hard time believing that the solution is life imprisonment, especially when we know that it has collateral impact beyond the victim, which is already tragic.
