I would love to do a deep dive more on what kind of materials they use in this. I know there is specularity on various things but it is pre PBR and feels different to other games in the Genre. I reckon it is mostly the awesome lighting

Someone made a good point in a similar thread I posted about Max Payne (see here : https://twitter.com/uk_resistant/status/1357643706199912454 …) in that a game that uses a lot of photos but modern image sizes, could look really good.
