your restaurant & wish we could do more to support businesses like yours. What I cannot do is jail people because of their addiction or double down on the failed war on drugs. We need to make it easier to get help than it is to get high in SF.
And does it make sense to say: “We take this seriously. That’s why 0.8% of car break-in’s have been prosecuted by my office”? That is him intentionally misleading bc if 99.2% of criminals are never pursued the city obviously isn’t taking it seriously.

He speaks for the DA's office, not the city as a whole, which is why he said "...the DA's office filed..." People keep blaming the DA for failures of policing, access to healthcare/housing, etc. It seems like a nice way for him to say -- you're barking up the wrong tree.
