Stopped by one of the few 2019 completed "new" sidewalk projects that isn't 2018 backfill in Columbia City. Here's the before and after.

A few things: it looks great! Much better than some of the low-cost sidewalks installed in the Rainier Valley last year. But...is it a "new sidewalk"?

Also, this block wasn't on the 2019 workplan sent to everyone in November next year, which was supposed to account for every block through the rest of the levy. How was it prioritized?

Looks like added planting strip, not new sidewalk. Looks nice, but still the same narrow walk space, right?
