Folds! Learn about folds! This example comes just after for-loops in the Phrasebook, as "folding" a list is often described as the "functional" alternative to "looping over" a list.

New (free, at this time) article on Stack's Nix integration. If you've ever been trying to use Stack's Nix integration and gotten error messages about "attribute 'ghc863' missing" or wondered about your NIX_PATH, this one is for you!

An exciting new Phrasebook entry! This is a big one featuring threads, queues, and multiple processes talking over network sockets.

Lesson 12 of Functortown is up! It's all about the Applicative for `(->) a` and a fun little newtype called `Reader`. Starts with an example, ends with a rewrite of that same example using `Reader`. Lots of diagrams, too!

New Phrasebook page: "moments in time" demonstrates working with the sorts of time values that you may see in log files. Thanks to for this submission!

It begins with a lesson on type equality constraints, which will then lead naturally into understanding what GADTs are and what they are for.

We still plan to make a reference page for each extension, but the more important place to start if you’re entirely unfamiliar with these features will be the new atypical data constructors series.

To present some of the more exotic language extensions - GADTs, type families, rank-N types - we've decided to start by focusing not on the individual extensions but with a more wholistic aim of understanding more expansive notions of types.

The Validation Course on typeclasses dot com now has lessons corresponding to both chapters we added for the Finding Success and Failure book!

When we turned the Validation course into a book, we wrote two new chapters for it. We're working on getting both of those chapters ported over to the site, added to the Validation course. The first one, Lesson 10, is on Coercible.

Our next stop on our journey through Functortown involves not just one but TWO list applicatives! Put a glide in your stride and a zip in your list, and come on up!

We want to say thank you again to all of the contributors to the Haskell Phrasebook! We have more great new Phrasebook material coming out soon, thanks to our collaborators! The Phrasebook will remain open for contribution even though is over.

We've had thoughts about range syntax and Enum in the past, too, that might interest you.

Haskell has a convenient notation for writing numeric ranges, and it can work with other types, too, including types you define yourself. Thanks once again to GitHub user ammatsui for contributing the code for this Phrasebook page!

Friends, step right up to the :info desk! We've added a page today about the GHCi :info command as part of our ongoing series about all things GHCi.

Starting to get submissions reviewed and inserted into the Phrasebook. First up is an overview of how to define functions (thanks ammatsui)

Use :seti in your GHCi config to enable your favorite language extensions! The :seti command only affects code that you type at the REPL prompt (whereas the :set command also affects code files that you load, which may not always be desirable.)

Our contributor guide is here and we've got a bunch of ideas for new Phrasebook pages in Hacktoberfest-tagged issues. If you're looking for somewhere to make your first Haskell pull request, we'd love to have you.
