In page 6 of the HS Tournament's Player's Handbook it states: "During round one of Swiss, organizers must randomly determine round one pairings and may not seed players into the pairings." So organizers actually can't seed based on anything for tour stops (1/2)

I think both sides can be argued - and best case IMO is that newer players in the circuit shouldn't be disadvantaged by getting pitted against the most experienced. Especially because in Swiss, everyone who does well will eventually have to face off against each other at random.

Yeah when the system was first introduced to the casters, i mentioned that id like to see some sort early round adv like seeding. Think it’s very reasonable but maybe technology isn’t ready for 3rd party sites.

Doesn't have anything to do with the technology. I talked to the team about this, seems like the reasoning aligns with equal competitive opportunities & not to discourage newer players with less/no HCT points.
