Any ideas about why?

"Pull together effect" - people working together to protect and support each other Both men and women spent more time at home during the pandemic, and work from home became more standard. I report on racial subgroups at 3pm too.

If I remember correctly, this phenomenon has been witnessed in women after major disasters. In men, different patterns have been identified if I am not mistaken. The possible confounder - different major event type with shorter duration of impact + cultural differences

pull together effect seen in both men and women, but i haven't often seen comparisons of gender in the literature. its a very understudied effect!

Is there any evidence to suggests those with significant mental health disorders (highest risk of suicide) where more likely to die of covid-19?
-
according to one analysis people with schizophrenia were 3-7x more likely to die of covid-19, but the numbers were small in terms of population
