People are in prison for life in the US for cannabis. As an Olympic athlete - knowing that she will be tested for everything - this was a dumb choice on her part.

Maybe certain strains of weed can be used to mask other prohibited substances. It doesn’t have to be about performance alone. Athletes can take masking agents too that are banned, but doesn’t help their performance in any way. It’s a sad situation- was hoping to see her run.
