Also, the button was labeled “update”, because it *updated* your status, and the timeline was a bunch of status updates. Biz started calling them “tweets” on Twitter’s blog in 2008. But it wasn’t until about 18 months later when we started calling them Tweets in the UI.

A lot of Twitter clients let you Mute a tweet. When you Mute, the tweet disappears from your timeline. But,

takes this one step further and allow me to Muffle. Muffle will collapse the tweet, showing the name. I can tap to expand it to read. Choices! I love it!
