Even though centuries are artificial human creations, there's something about this that kinda feels like closure. RIP
-
A year is when the earth makes an entire solar revolution, so no, a century isn't 100% artificial
-
100 is totally artificial, we decided to count 10 by 10
-
And some decided to count in base 60. But that's not the question, number were invented to quantify things.
-
Yes but i just want to say that if we counted in like base 23, this event will not be as important
-
yes it would be. just because we'd quantify time differently, the same amount of it would have passed. her age would still be significant
-
yes, it's just that the oldest person on Earth passed away (which happen to be born in the 19th century)
-
-
-
Sounds like a challenge to live until the 2100s.
-
I feel like we have way better odds tho, not rly fair challenge
-
Only advances in healthcare make it easier to live longer. Urbanisation, globalisation, higher demand for output etc pose further difficulty
-
well I guess it depends on whether or not you wanna be optimistic about it, too many factors to know for sure
