The protest marches I particiapated at had little to no music. There were people talking through microphones, Not music. The concept that reports on rallyes can be surpressed by copyright claims claims is so off the deep end, it speaks against the common sense of their advocates.

Are you seriously this clueless? Copyright applies to protest videos, photography etc. For the communications that are text based they have

Copyright does NOT apply to public events. Everyone can picture and film them. And if some music is in the background and it is insignificant to the main point of the document, then there is no copyright claim. Simple as that.

Youre not allowed to copyright a film you made of a protest?

You can copyright the recording, (if you are owner or licensee) but that only counts for the recording. Since everyone can make a recording of a public event, it is impossible to „copycensor“ rallies. You assumption is plain whacky.

what is the trust model for copyright claim? if a larger entity nefariously adds works that are not their own, what is the recourse? how fast is the correction? this has already happened on youtube. the concern of article 13 being used to censor coverage of rallies is valid.

Article 13 tries to make this process faster and more efficient. What the exact repercussions are, when blocking or filtering models are abused, is usually decided in court. That is the situation with EVERY law, btw. the law is the guideline, courts usually deal with the details.

Btw court: if someone can not afford a lenthly trial then their upload is dead. The dancing baby case lasted several years. it was in the US but i doubt in the EU such cases would be something you want average citizens to pay for. Especially because abusers get no treal penalty

How do you know that abusers wont get any real penalty? If somebody claims copyright for censorship purposes that is something that should be penalised. Also: I still find the whole assumption still unrealistic. I would not know how and why someone should repress rally reports.

because they do that in the US regardless the court cases. Umg, CD baby and many others abuse the system along with "private" users.follos teamyoutube see the posts. the system is abused and the text did not contain any assurance
