The app says you will stop letting my bridge work properly from April. What am I supposed to do with the old bridge? Do you recycle them? How long will the new bridge last before you deliberately make it obsolete too? Or make my bulbs stop working?

Thank you, that does address some of my questions. Questions oustanding: recycling for the old bridge, and reasons why I should buy the new bridge rather than switch to kasa? And the problem with your "offer"? They were in the tweets linked to the one you replied to.

There is no recycling program for the V1 bridge. The new bridge should be seen as upgrading your computer. The system will be faster, smoother, etc. We're not quite sure what problem you're referring to concerning the V1 to V2 promotion? Please let us know.

I upgrade my computer when it actually needs it and in my own time; the only reason my bridge won't work in April is that you're going to break it, because it works fine now. Given this, the lack of recycling is irresponsible since you are creating the waste.

The promotion is the offer the app made: to give me a "free" bridge 2 if I buy a really expensive bulb that I don't want (colour changing E27). I can't use that bulb, as I said, and in any case you're actually out of stock!

I have a v2, and read this with some concern. what is the scheduled end of life for the v2? why do you terminate online services. to save you money or for a valid reason?

Hi Mark, the full end of support policy can be found via the link shared above. There is currently no scheduled end of life for the V2 bridge, and we're not working on a new bridge at the moment either so will continue working with the V2. >>

I can pretty much accept the no further software development if the hardware is old and development needs to concentrate on newer hardware, but why the breaking of the online services? It is working now, it will work in May and beyond if you let it.

Hi Tony, thank you for your message. We have supported these online functionalities for the last year since we have announced the end of support on the V1 bridge. However, the bridge V1 is not future proof in that sense.>>

Thank you for providing this information to the public! It's useful information to have, and will definitely make the decision to get rid of my Philips Hues and switch back to normal light bulbs easier.

Hi Quinn, thanks for reaching out. We have actually announced the end of support policy for the bridge V1 publicly as well as to our users in April of 2019. The V2 is however future proof if you would like to continue with our systems, of course this is ultimately up to you.

Quite understandable :) Do you have an EOL roadmap for your devices as most Enterprise vendors have? I think that would be very beneficial to the people who wants to invest in your equipment to better guage wich options to choose :)

This is really concerning for anyone that has a Hue Bridge. What will happen when you end support for v2? All the automations and money that went into my Hue setup will go down the drain.

Hi Bogdan, thank you for your message. We have designed the Bridge V2 to be future proof. We actually decided to eventually discontinue further software updates and online services for the Hue Bridge v1, in order to focus on supporting our Hue Bridge v2 ecosystem.
