    Vintage 1940s matchbook cover from the Raven Grill, at 3125 Mt. Pleasant St NW. Opened in 1935, the Raven is among the longest-lived watering holes in DC. While it no longer serves food, it originally was as much a restaurant as a bar.

    It is my recollection a D.C. task force report also came to a similar conclusion, even though this approach to addressing office vacancy is the econ development flavor of the month

    A recently analysis by Moody's Analytics found not only is it difficult to pull off an office-to-apartment conversion, it may be not feasible for the majority of office buildings in a given city.

    Mark Plotkin would have turned 75 years old today. He passed away in 2019. From a DC politics standpoint, he played sort of a Tim Russert role. His plain-spoken, heart-on-his-sleeve truth, passion, & advocacy are greatly missed. We honored him in 2017:
