Around the time I met my husband, he always put the tv on in the morning, and watch you. Fond memories.

The big change was months before when Jeremy stood in on Breakfast News and the programme instantly changed direction in terms of tone, humour and watchability. Up to then it had become very predictable.

I remember very well the awkward silence with Isobel Lang when JB suddenly asked her what her favourite record was, unscripted. Then prompted her with the name punchline - “Was it by the Weather Girls”
. I think bosses must have seen this and thought “We like this”, cue revamp!

I remember on Saturday mornings BBC Two would air Weekend 24 with News 24 from 8am.

Yeah, I remember that too. Never watched it (obviously), as I was occupied with whatever kids stuff was being shown on BBC One and ITV at the time.

Jeremy and Sophie were a superb team, arguably the best ever although Bill and Sian ran them close. Great days and well worth remembering.
