Virginian George H Thomas - who stayed loyal to the US - encapsulated in 1868 the precise reasons that today we see more people spouting Lost Cause mythology.

People come up to me, introduce themselves, and then tell me how much student loan debt they have. Their debt is keeping them from buying homes, starting businesses, and pursuing the careers they want. It's time to cancel the debt that is crushing an entire generation.

Trump now off script: "They tried for a coup, it didn't work out so well. And I didn't need a gun for that one, did I? All was taking place at the highest levels in Washington, DC. You've been watching, you've been seeing."

BREAKING: The Supreme Court of Kansas has just ruled that the state’s constitution protects the right to abortion! This ruling means that abortion rights are protected across the state of Kansas—even if Republicans were to successfully roll back Roe.

A woman got 3 million more votes than Trump in 2016. Women powered the resistance starting the day after Trump's inauguration. Women candidates won up and down the ballot in 2018. Democrats should not question whether a woman can win in 2020.

There is a student loan debt crisis, and it’s holding an entire generation back—from reducing home ownership rates to forcing students to drop out of school before getting a degree. It’s unacceptable and I want to change that.

EXCUSE ME WHILE I WALK INTO MY CLOSET AND SCREAM We have been helping newly restored voters register and get IDs in Florida all year. It's been amazing. We get a lot ( A LOT) of returned citizens who need help paying fines and fees before they get their IDs.

Can we just start saying the quiet parts out loud? The WH has no intention of stopping Russia in 2020. I’m saving you the moral outrage later on. There is no other way to explain their (Trump, Pence, Kushner, Giuliani, etc) reaction to Volume One.

It's pretty bizarre that so many news outlets are framing the Trump subpoenas as a 'partisan political fight' and not as 'the President doesn't believe the American people deserve transparency and accountability.'

The same political media that spent years treating Paul Ryan as a serious policy wonk just cruising right past Elizabeth Warren is just one reason I wake up wanting to set things on fire

To celebrate another old white male (who's holding a big ticket fundraiser tonight) entering the race I'm donating to a woman today. I encourage you to do the same.

A woman won 3 million more votes in 2016. In 2018, all kinds of women won *including the unelectable ones.* The top tier of 2020 includes multiple women. Hush the misogynist concern troll in your mind and look up — Americans are already voting for women.

Predator trump: “I’ve been the most transparent in the history of our country.” -Hides his taxes. -Hides his business dealings. -Hides his medical records. -Hides his Russian contacts. -Hides his affairs. -Hides his grades. -Hides from the draft.

Most people don't realize this: not only can incarcerated people not vote, but their population counts towards the (conservative) towns where they are incarcerated when drawing/allocating districts. White people literally amplify their voting power by incarcerating Black people.

There is zero reason to assume the 2020 election is going to be free or fair, and it's naive as hell to cover it that way.

The treatment of women and infants is a direct reflection of the values of a society—and the U.S. has the worst maternal mortality rate in the developed world. It's a national disgrace. Today, I talked about my idea to fix it.

"the clearest red flag was the accounts’ inability to hide their contempt for the very people they were attempting to imitate." This piece about a group of black feminists who tried to expose the alt-right trolls impersonating them is incredible

There's an aspect to this Trump/Russia/Impeachment business that is getting undersold, and that's that totalitarian regimes are supporting Trump because their ideologies align and if Democrats don't stand up for what's right they have no reason whatsoever to stop. 1/
