    Do I wish other folks would also mask up inside, even if only for a week or two? Sure, but I'm not going to spend my energy exhorting others to do the "right" thing. Would rather spend it making sure everyone I know gets vaxxed instead

    How about this hypothetical: $2.1B for backwards Airtrain OR $100M for LGA bus/bike improvements $2B to make 40 subway stations ADA accessible What would you choose? Maybe in a perfect world we wouldn't have to but we live in a very imperfect world

    Ok logging back on because I love discourse We're unfortunately not getting an Airtrain to major transit hubs. We're getting an Airtrain to Willets Point. Great for out-of-town Mets fans I guess

    Coming off a flight with bags & suitcases on wobbly legs from sitting in a confined space for hours, I personally am not inclined to schlep to a bus (bicycle totally insane). An Airtrain to major transit hubs like grand central, penn, jfk would make the trip home less stressful.

    Anyway I gotta get back to work so my 2c is that bikes are not the solution for everyone but neither is the Airtrain. Airtrain costs $2B. The cost to add Citibike (or bus lanes) would be tantamount to a rounding error. Yet we prioritize the big expensive thing first

    I disagree as a Astoria resident who has taken the M60 many times. The bus (even without lanes) will still be faster than the Airtrain Sometimes a poor second choice is not worth building! There is opportunity cost to this $2 billion

    The Airtrain is not useless. It would have been better to extend the N train. But western Queens has the most organized NIMBYs in the entire state. It just wasn't going to happen. The Airtrain is a poor second choice but it will be a thosand times better than the M60 bus.

    I'm in the same boat. I know several ppl personally (and more on the timeline) that have come down with breakthrough cases. Sure it's v manageable for the vaxxed but I do feel for parents and their <12 kids

    I don’t really understand what public messaging re: Covid is supposed to be now. People were told to stay home and distance to buy time for a vaccine. They’re not going to do it again. Masks are an imperfect solution. Those who don’t want a vaccine might not be persuadable.
