The new plywood on the federal courthouse is now reinforced with... something. Can’t get too close. Protesters largely staying across the street from the courthouse and JC tonight. I haven’t seen anyone approaching the buildings, knocking, throwing things, otherwise instigatingpic.twitter.com/rNzuy18ZdX

Oops, speaking of instigating... a couple protesters are pointing lasers at windows of the courthouse.pic.twitter.com/wn5kcu2GeT

Reminder that pointing lasers at officers is actually a crime and protesters have been prosecuted for it on the local and federal level

Someone in the courthouse is shining a light back down at protesters. Protesters yelling “I see you”pic.twitter.com/6oASUBR4RV

Another spotlight from the courthouse. Wild how many protesters are out without masks when they are clearly being watched by federal officers.pic.twitter.com/4Un5fRhPxc

Speaking of clearly watched, there’s a camera on this lamp post now. I’ve been standing under it for hours — good thing I’m just doing journalism and eating chips

Protester on a megaphone encouraging everyone to stay away from the federal courthouse and stay more towards the Justice Center. Then I missed the rest because some non-Black protesters started arguing with a Black protest leader about whether he should call himself antifa

Majority of protesters are moving into the street in front of the Justice Center while chanting George Floyd’s name. Attention has shifted from the courthouse to the JC.

Crowd chanting what I’m pretty sure started as a meme: “take it to the streets and fuck the police; bounce that ass, no peace.”pic.twitter.com/EyUSIOEurn

A few protesters are climbing onto the stairs and ledges of the justice center. Two are standing directly in front of the JC door with their backs to the door.

Protesters chanting the name of Philando Castile to mark the 4th anniversary of his death. He was murdered by a police officer during a traffic stop in Minnesota on July 6, 2016.

Truly cannot believe that this statue is still up. I’ve heard it universally referred to as “the colonizer statue” and protesters seem to loathe it.pic.twitter.com/MMDHQoBKZS

Maybe 75 people in the street outside the Justice Center. Maybe 50 more in the park (Chapman Square)? This includes press, medics, ACLU observers, NLG, protesters, and any other random folks in the park.

Five minutes to midnight. No visible police/law enforcement presence yet tonight, other than whoever was shining bright lights down from the top floors of the courthouse.

Protesters have moved away from the front doors and ledges of the justice center itself. But some protesters are still in the street, sharing stories and songs on the bullhorn. Maybe 50 in the street now.

Still no signs of law enforcement on the ground. How much money do you think is going towards paying all of the PPB, DHS, CBP, US Marshals, maybe MCSO, etc, who are stationed inside the justice center and federal courthouse, watching the protesters?
