Please note that the defendants in these proceedings are likely not the people arrested last night. It sounds like it’s taking 2-3 days for people arrested with federal charges to appear before a court. Also I’m not a lawyer and know nothing. Just on a call.

Arraignments are being set three or four weeks out but defendants are being released with restrictions in the interim, including 8pm curfew & ban from JC area. Prosecution has sometimes been asking for GPS tracking on released folks, but judge has been denying it.

Info from someone who actually knows something: In federal court there is no cash bail. They either detain or release, and so far all have been released.

Info from same source: Defense lawyers had no indication of charges until the time of the hearing. That's why many were released but have follow-up preliminary hearings related to charges.

So is part of the game to give the press a "curfew" and keep them away from the JC?
-
Of course it is!

Is it time to find a better spot than the JC? They hit 20-30 people a night with a curfew that’s 900 in a month. We need to be more strategic about the protests. If we keep ramming the same wall and it won’t give due to reinforcement, try a wall with less reinforcement!

Going to the JC constantly has never been a good idea The PPA is the weak spot
