You could read the post that started this whole business. About repeated homophobic attacks. But frankly I think it takes a pretty thick skin to be openly gay on a platform where men like Crowder are allowed. You should only be so lucky to not have to live with that.

YouTube is a private company. It doesn’t have to follow the first amendment. It can and should have stricter guidelines.

Where did they say they're pro censorship...? They said it's not a first amendment issue, because it's not... Censorship isn't right, but it's their choice how to define "hate speech" and if it's done in a way that alienates people, they risk losing customers.
