    Scott Pruitt approached the White House last month requesting substantial pay raises for two close aides. The W.H. said no, so Pruitt used an obscure provision in the Safe Drinking Water Act to go around the W.H. and give the aides raises anyway.

    YES. 1,000 times over. Whenever a piece is described as "brave," "real," or "authentic," I know it's BS and only covers step 1.

    A friend once used the phrase "professional confessional" about people who can't stop writing about themselves despite doing it neither interestingly nor competently, and, well, it's a phrase that's on my mind today

    Actually, this isn't funny at all. None of it. When media giants gobble up local news stations, there are repercussions. And since you brought it up first this morning, will your admin green light the Tribune buyout?

    So funny to watch Fake News Networks, among the most dishonest groups of people I have ever dealt with, criticize Sinclair Broadcasting for being biased. Sinclair is far superior to CNN and even more Fake NBC, which is a total joke.

    Ohhhhhhhhhhh.

    Here we go, my thoughts on Judas: His undoing wasn’t betraying Jesus (even Peter did that). His undoing lies in the fact that he thought his sin was unforgivable. He didn’t believe God’s Mercy would overpower his wrongdoings.

    Because their identities are just as real as anyone's. Because they're just as deserving of respect, love, and opportunity as anyone else. Because it's clearly the right thing to do.

    On this Trans Day of Visibility, what would really comfort us is if cis people expressed why they support trans people, our rights, and our identities. QT this and say why you support the trans community.

    I know we're all numb, but this is very serious. This is not just a comment. It is an important economic act that is restructuring our economy. Trump is making clear that companies that publicly praise him can get billion dollar deals from govt agencies. 1/

    Yeah, Haniger had a strained oblique last year and missed 6 weeks. Gamel has one now and has missed four weeks already and just starting to take BP now. Not sure of severity of Zunino's yet, but clearly he'll be out more than just 10 days.

    What you mean to say is: only on the American right. If I can persuade people of one thing in my wee li'l career as a writer, it will be to stop locating fault in "America" or "politics" or "Washington" when the fuckery in question has a very specific origin: the US right.

    we had a massacre school shooting in Scotland over 20 years ago. Not one person NOT ONE asked the surviving adults and children why they did nothing, not ONE TV host mocked them. Not ONE person set up an account to mock their exam results. Only in America.

    Local TV news chain Sinclair literally hired someone from the Russian propaganda outlet RT to produce a story on "the Deep State." It ran on Seattle TVs during the KOMO 6 o'clock news. (Sinclair owns KOMO). Again, Sinclair owns local TV stations in 40% of U.S. cities

    I’m in a peculiar simulation where a man said women should be hanged for refusing to accept forced birth but the intolerant ones are those objecting to his getting a very cushy job with a giant platform so he can say stuff like that more I give it a 2/5 for verisimilitude
