Finishing a paper on the dragged-out illness known as 'long COVID'. Have just written:
"A key role of the GP is that of witness, 'honouring the story' of the patient whose protracted recovery was unexpected, alarming and does not make sense."
Conversation
#LongCovid, as phenomenon and term, is the collective creation of those who've experienced & still suffer from it. I’m very interested in how you as clinician are handling tricky issues surrounding authorship, origins, citations, use of different evidence, + more. #Coproduction

We have coauthors and reviewers with lived experience. We cite patient-led research. What else should we do?
Great! Had inferred from yr tweet + responses to it that verb 'have' was singular (I), not plural (we). I remain v interested in how you all address collective origins, naming, characteristics of #LongCovid & how you construe creatn of knowledge, as well as productn of narrative

Ah I see! There’s five authors, 2 of whom def had covid plus one more probably. Patient whose narrative is showcased wanted to stay anon so isn’t an author but that was their choice. We now cite Body Politic and your paper after tip off from .
