I worked as a residential counsellor in SF's Tenderloin District. I'll never forget it. The hotels downtown say they have many tourists who've vowed never to return to SF. If you're rich like Pelosi or have political power, you don't have to deal with the consequences.
I served 2 terms on the SF Board of Mental Health. Most homeless have mental illnesses. SF is well-intentioned, but has failed. My affluent brother left SF w his family for Portland, OR, where many SFers make their homes now, because only the really rich can survive in SF.
