The argument is circular. The thing some say protects him from indictment (position as POTUS) is the thing that he "won" by conspiring with foreign adversaries. He is protected because those crimes were successful? C'mon.

Well put. I retweeted your tweet.

Analogy - Criminal gets a book deal while in prison & makes millions from writing about his crimes.

The logical conclusion to the idea that you can't indict a sitting President is that he is effectively immune from literally raping a person on live TV in the Oval Office if Congress chooses to not remove him. The Framers would have never intended this.

Or shoot someone on 5th Avenue. It boggles my mind everytime I hear or read people say justice needs to wait till he serves his term(s) to get him. That's beyond ridiculous for the crime of treason.

My favorite line; "the Office of Legal Counsel opinions may not prevent Trump from being indicted because they “don’t necessarily apply to a circumstance in which the actual crime may have involved him obtaining the presidency in the first place.” It's looking like HRC really won
-
My second favorite line; “Nothing in the Constitution prevents [Trump’s] indictment for directing a criminal conspiracy to steal the presidency,” Tribe wrote in a December 10 tweet. “Certainly not a DOJ [Department of Justice] policy.”

Question: Pence kills Trump to become President. Would he be immune? I do not think so. Same with Trump. He commited crimes to become President. Same principle should apply. Thoughts...
-
This shouldn't even be a debate. Of course he is indictable.

If I swindle you out of an expensive piece of art, I get to keep the artwork? Too bad, so sad, for you? If I rob your bank, because you were looking the other way, I get to keep that money? No, that's not how crime works. Obtained illegally, RICO takes it away. WH should be same.

Excellent. Exactly Right. Amen. Thank you.

If Trump did cheat his way to the presidency then his entire tenure should be annulled every bill & EO he signed voided, every appointment he made withdrawn including SCOTUS & the VP can't inherit office because he shouldn't even be there in the first place

Anyone can be indicted with sign-off of the A.G. or over-seeing deputy. I believe all DoJ policies (rather than rules) work this way, but I may be wrong on that.

Thank you for reply! I am reading everything I can trying to learn about the laws regarding this, but my background is medical, so I am still learning!

Of course, we're all in this together, Particularly in the crowd-sourced Trump investigation.
