That seems like a no brainer for artists to move to the platform. But how are they going to convince fans to sign up and stay for their content?

Smart strategists and creative directors are going to become extremely important. Because with YouTube documenting all of an artist’s appearances and streaming services having their music, they have to figure out how to get people to stay for their content. Time to get creative

Depends on the artist deal. Just because OnlyFans pays them directly doesn't mean the label isn't entitled to it. Everybody contract is not the same. Copyrighted material is copyrighted material.
