Your question contains the answer. Not only can you not respect their morality, but it might be good to ask the further question : why would you want to search for reasons to respect their morality, given the what they have ascribed to?

I think a lot about C.P. Ellis here in Durham who left his role in the Klan after working to de-segregate schools. He lost every last bit of what had been his identity & it was so brutal he attempted suicide.
