    The city (and province) having created the problem in the first place are now proposing to "solve" it with a campaign of harassment that's going to fall disproportionately on already marginalized people, and ... citizens are allowed to be skeptical of this.

    Watching Toronto Twitter come to terms with actually enforcing transit fares is quite something.

    Yes. I mean, wrestling to the ground people who can't afford $3.75 and making them pay $480 is one issue. But even aside from it, taking people who tried their best to pay but failed because *your* software sucks and making them pay $480 is also unjustifiable.

    Effectively addressing climate change is a jobs program. Good climate change policy can be used to deliver the social goods and services people need. There is no either or here.
