I really need cis people to realize that I’ve had just about every trans surgery available and I will experience dysphoria until the day I die because my natal puberty permanently changed my height, shoulder width and hip narrowness.pic.twitter.com/GKdDkGRQUw

If trans people experience natal puberty, they will deal with that for the rest of their lives. Banning puberty blockers means thousands of trans people will experience decades of pain, discrimination, and expensive, unnecessary medicalization that will never end.

Some trans people experience such heavily gendered puberties that transition becomes an impossible feeling remedy and they stay closeted their whole lives. I’ve met hundreds of such trans people who have disclosed that to me privately.

Y’all call us brave because you know your people treat us like shit when we are clocked. I’d rather we be left alone to control our own lives and bodies from the day we are born than for one more cis person to call us brave.

The reason I am so passionate about this is because I wouldn’t wish dysphoria on my worst enemy and to have people out there creating legal frameworks to lock children into lifetimes of dysphoria pisses me the fuck off.

if they get puberty blockers and then change their mind....they just...go through puberty later? how is this anywhere near as life-altering as going through the wrong puberty?

and, like. everyone's body is different. i didn't really get into my first puberty until years after everyone i knew. if one chooses to delay it a few years before letting it go forward, then well. so what? it happens. there's nothing strange about this.

"delaying puberty causes more side effects than going through the wrong puberty" like just patently false

I'm still not at the point of having had surgery but I know I'll always have dysphoria for the same reasons as you 😔 Hormones have been helping. But it's a big scar that won't be going away.

They view cis people as being inherently more valuable than trans people, and don't even try to hide it.
