Oh gosh I can’t keep up with my mentions anymore and Twitter has apparently stopped me from liking tweets in this thread but I’m honestly overwhelmed by the support. <3

I don't ever recall 'becoming' a supporter of trans rights. I've always been a supporter of human rights, and so of course I fight for trans rights. So it goes.

Yeah, basically, there is no group of people whose basic human rights i don't support. But a college course on Sex & Gender (19 years ago now) helped advance my understanding of both beyond simple binaries. I also have several trans friends & acquaintances but that came later

I've been an outsider my whole life. Black, fat and I loved rock music and hockey when it wasn't cool. I know what it's like to be judged and shunned for being yourself. Going out in public and not being accepted. To be rejected . No one should ever have to go thru that alone.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

You. Seriously. Having zero close trans friends IRL, following you has had a huge impact on what I'll admit (as a cis gay male) weren't the most educated views.

This answer makes me really happy.

1. It's the right thing to do 2. I love my trans friends and I want them to be safe 3. I was raised in the evangelical church and I'm trying to undo the harm they've done to LGBTQ+ people

This. So much this.
