  18. Disruption is likely to be for some time which I know is deeply disappointing for passengers. The industry must be absolutely focused on safety & rebuilding a reliable and punctual service. Throughout will ensure safety is the priority. . (3/3)

  19. I’ve also asked rail industry to explore all rolling stock options, to see if alternative trains can be sourced, and deliver a clear rail replacement plan, with extra bus and coach services to keep passengers moving. (2/3)

  20. Update: I’ve asked to set out a safety inspection plan & a long-term repair strategy to resolve prolonged disruption. They’ll set out whether carriages can still run safely, a rigorous inspection regime and a first assessment of when problems can be resolved (1/3)
