Today I celebrate having run 25% of the streets in the . Thank you to for making this great tool to track this data! Thank you also to and for taking me to all corners of the city so I could run new places!

For those not from Seattle, the Monorail has been here since 1962, but it was only in the Fall of 2019 that it started integrating with our public transit system by accepting ORCA cards (the regional transit payment cards). This is really exciting and makes it easier to ride!

Date night taking the to see 's Cinderella! 💕🚝🩰💃 It was my first time riding the Monorail since it started accepting ORCA and my boyfriend's first time ever! We loved it! Fast & convenient way to get to Seattle Center, and the ballet was magical!

There weren't any public restrooms on my run + transit commute home so I had to pee in the bushes. 👎👎 But at least it was dark so I got more privacy! can we build more public restrooms to support transit riders and active modes?

These photos are from Tuesday so I don't know if the sign has been repaired yet.

A driver plowed down this sign at the off-ramp to 92nd Ave NE. As someone who crosses here a lot on foot, this is definitely unsettling to me.

For women that run-mute, do you have any suggestions of running clothes that one could wear to work? perhaps?

It was also my first time using Pioneer Square Station since the start of the "Connect 2020" light rail construction. I had fun observing how operations worked with the existence of the new center platform for transfers between trains!

I was excited to come across this stairway construction on S Hinds St during my run (even though the closure was a minor inconvenience for me). I love to see that is improving pedestrian infrastructure. Thank you!

Today I took a Link Light Rail train from downtown Seattle to Othello Station and then I ran back! I love the gorgeous views and challenging hills of South Seattle! They are definitely helping me getting back in shape.

I love this service! (previous enthusiasm in the thread below) For those of you, like me, who need to get outside year round, the Sound Transit 554 takes you to/near Squak Mountain and Poo Poo Point/Tiger Mountain. (This knowledge was blessedly shared with my by )

We conducted a survey of passengers at the end of last season, and here are the results. Spoiler Alert: It's really popular! 🚇🚍🐿️🌲🗻

This is totally fine, though I very much look forward to more frequent trains and real-time data in March when "Connect 2020" is over! I hope you enjoyed learning about some of the logistical considerations that come up during a multimodal running + transit commute!

So I've reasoned that since trains run every 12+ minutes during construction for the next several weeks but I don't have real-time data, on average it's best for me to just always change shirts before going down to the platform, even though sometimes this means missing a train.

I don't really like pulling out my phone and opening up an app, because it takes too much time when I'm trying to make a quick decision, plus I don't even know if the app data is reliable during the Connect 2020 construction.

But that means I have to make a decision based on the departure data at the station sign (or from an app on my phone). If there are 3 or fewer minutes, I just throw a coat on top of my wet layers because it's better than missing a train and waiting 6-15+ minutes for the next one!

I'm not sure what the official rules are about showing your belly button 😜 on the train or platform but in any case I feel more comfortable and less likely to shock/gross people out by doing this outside.

If there are at least 4 minutes left at UW Station, I do a stealthy shirt change outside before going down to the platform. I manage to do this without exposing anything that would get me arrested 😜, but prefer not to change shirts on the train or indoor platform.

I just finished running, so my shirt and sports bra are wet from sweat. I have a narrow window of time after the run to take off the wet layers otherwise I'll get very cold. (Even with a warm coat I put on over top, I'll still get cold with wet base layers.)
