the united states has convinced do many people that MLK day is a day of service. MLK wasn't interested in "service," he was interested in the redistribution of wealth to render poverty obsolete. Less service, more redistribution

Today I learned that the phrase "dog and pony show" is not in common UK use but it does have its own wikipedia article whence I discovered that the original show was called “Gentry’s Equine and Canine Paradox”. I hereby commit to henceforth swapping in the latter for the former.

Excuse me? Over 600 of my NHS & care colleagues have given up their *actual* lives to help patients with Covid. Some of whom begged for proper PPE before they died. PPE your government singularly failed to deliver. That’s heroism, Mr Gove. And those deaths? They’re unforgivable.

The history of Nazis holding rallies in left-wing areas of Weimar Germany, instigating street fights, and then telling the press that only they could save Germany from the "violent communists" seems like an important thing for people to be studying right now.

What a desperately sad story this is. All those Brexit myths of British greatness somehow overlooked the fact that the UK has some of the poorest regions in Europe, that gained considerably from EU support. Good luck getting that from the Tories.

The largest excess death toll in Europe. The worst recession since records began. More than 1 in 10 of the care home population dead. Thousands of students robbed of their futures. This Tory government is a disaster & it's the working class that's hardest hit.
