Thank you for your enthusiasm and support! I'm so honored and appreciative. (And really behind on my WIPs, so please forgive me if I mostly duck out of this party for a while.) 😅

  9. I have made lots of new friends in the industry and I'm grateful for them. But 2020 is about writing for me because I have three coming out in 2021. Have to balance both.

  10. I want to take time and write longer works and stretch myself in new directions. So that means more time writing and less time on the road for me. I also miss hanging w/my family and friends who are a lot of fun.

  11. BUT I'm finally past that debut year. And there comes a point of diminishing returns if you continue at that pace because you can burn out.

  12. Great question, ! I've been "doing it all" for the past year and a half. Mktg books as they come out and writing/selling new books and shorter works for anthologies.

  15. Mentor texts: I couldn’t afford (money or time) to do a writing MFA. I read blogs and took a lot of different authors’ advance to read tons of books in whatever genre or age group you want to write.

  19. Every book has its own journey once it is out in the world. How readers connect with it or not is completely out of my control. It’s freeing because there’s nothing more I can do at that point but keep writing my other projects.

  20. Publishing my first book at a smaller house got me a lot more attention from the sales and marketing staff than other friends whose books were at bigger houses. CB staff placed the book well.

  21. You don’t have to do all the things. Set up and agree to events that you are comfortable with because you’ll enjoy them more. Stretch yourself outside of your comfort zone, but not where everyone is miserable.
