Let's see - who's on the @fsf board of directors? Could we count on them to do the right thing?
Ok, first name on the list is Gerald J. Sussman....oh.https://twitter.com/H0tdish/status/1166445162681249792?s=20 …

Second name on the list is Geoffrey Knauth -
@gknauth - who retweeted a hideous Bret Stephens NYT editorial about how all this 'liberalism' is eroding 'excellence' https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/02/opinion/university-campus-diveristy-inclusion-free-speech.html … Not holding my breath for either of these gents.5 replies 51 retweets 363 likesShow this thread -
I’m very interested in hearing a response from
@conservancy and@o0karen0o given the organizations close association with the fsf. Bradley M. Kuhn is on the fsf board and President of@conservancy . We give them $$$$ which is going to end now.3 replies 0 retweets 16 likes -
The statements relayed in the medium post are reprehensible. There is indeed no formal relationship between FSF and Conservancy as others have said but for my part, I'm removing my only remaining formal personal connection right now - my FSF membership. We'll be following this.

Replying to @o0karen0o @jenred and
My post to the
@FSF member forum earlier. It's long past time the board exercised their duty under Article VI Section 7 of the bylaws and vote him out. His behavior is doing harm to the public interest the public charity is chartered to support.#RMS#Stallman#FSF#FreeSoftwarepic.twitter.com/xm4uH74eli

Couldn't tell ya. As soon as they processed my membership cancellation I lost access. It was a reply to the topic started by
@mattl; maybe he knows if anyone else has spoken up there.1 reply 0 retweets 10 likes -

This thread is eye-opening. I hadn't previously really engaged and certainly never knew RMS held these views (and the views on pedophilia). I would say I'm surprised, but people in the limelight usually find a way to disappoint you.

Warnings about him have been circulating among young women for at least 30 years. He's written things publicly about adult/child sex being OK in "consensual" circumstances for ~20 He's been getting a free pass for a generation because of GNU and Emacs. It is time for that to end

I do not dispute that he's had an insane amount of influence over modern computing and the overall success of *NIX and OSS... but that's not the end of it. His behavior, and a generation of young men following him, have successfully pushed out many thousands of women from CS.

A lot of them don't see this as a problem. He's absolutely shaped the industry, in some ways for the better, in other ways for the worse. In 2019, I don't think he has anything to offer that will make OSS, CS, or industry better. RMS and those like him are the pipeline problem.
