Here are my findings. First the numbers. "+" means for the bill, "÷" means against. Muslims + : 7 Muslims ÷ : 4 Jews + : 14 Jews ÷ : 24 Other + : 55 Other ÷ : 25 Pro with modifications specifically for jews: 5 The next few entries will be what I found surprising or disturbing

Surprising: Men and women - and one religious group of Jewish heritage wrote PRO the bill. Most Jews against the bill were individuals from Canada. Only local Islam GROUPS claimed circumcision to be necessary. Foreign Muslims all pro and pointed to the Quran for support!

Disturbing:
@Barnaheill and#Barnaverndarstofa - two agencies with a primary objective to protect children FAIL in their assessment, bowing to religion in lieu of the individual autonomous right of the child.Show this thread -
The main domestic commentators are religious sects (Christian churches swaying to weak arguments of anti-Semitism or xenophobia.) Educated people are sending in arguments claiming health benefits, reduced HIV infection rate, reduced STD rate etc. contrary to proven facts.

And most disturbing of all: The entries from men that have been circumcised (some in their teens) and women that have to endure the pain of having a desensitized "stick" of a partner, describing vaginal abrasion or damage due to the damaged penis.

When my son was born, the question of circumcision surfaced (wife is of different culture). The answer was very simple. Absolutely not. I fight this fight because this question should NEVER surface unless there's something severely wrong to begin with. The foreskin is not wrong

I am waiting for the results of the end of first discussion and I have it from the honorable Silja Dögg Gunnarsdóttir that first results may be awaited soon.

While the government of Iceland is deciding on whether or not boys should be allowed to be genitally mutilated, tens of thousands of American men are trying to restore their gimped penises by tugging at the left over stump. What a world

-
Yes, I was aware of that. It's really a sad state of matters. I also understand that the modus operandi at most US hospitals is to circumcise - and parents may even have a fight if they don't wish to have this "service".
-
I know someone who had to legally threaten the legal department of a hospital to prevent his son from being circumcised without parental consent. Hospitals sell the foreskins for dermal treatment creams, after charging the parents for the foreskin removal.

Precisely - and even more so by those that get into power. The disturbing thing I learnt is that the Christian churches in Iceland actually support this atrocity in the name of "respect for other religions".

I definitely think this should be up for an adult male to decide for himself
-
That is the point of the bill. This is a protection for children to uphold their right of bodily autonomy. I.e. the parents do not have a right to decide to mutilate/deform their children.

I truly hope the bill passes. This double standard needs to end.
