Lies, fake news, “alternative facts”. Everyone's been telling untruths this election. We checked politicians’ whoppers against analysis carried out by @FullFact + @FactCheck, and discovered that of 95 claims that were fact-checked during the campaign, 77 turned out to be untrue.

Everyone's been telling untruths, but the Tories have told the most - ⅓ of all the ones we looked at. But Labour tends to spread lots of smaller untruths. #GE2019 https://torto.se/35bOE2m pic.twitter.com/TyZsmvUKuo

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it is the big issues - The NHS and Brexit - about which the most untruths are spread. #GE2019 https://torto.se/35bOE2m pic.twitter.com/yyrU5DQq27

Where are these untruths coming from? One of the biggest “platforms” for untruths was official party literature: manifestos, press releases, leaflets and adverts. #GE2019 https://torto.se/35bOE2m pic.twitter.com/dJGKVYPR4r

But not all untruths are equal – some are outright lies – and we want to find out who told the worst. To do this, we scored each untruth for the electoral significance of the claim and the level of dishonesty in the lie. #GE2019 https://torto.se/35bOE2m pic.twitter.com/F3EwvFtLxS

Define "smaller untruths". There's a £58bn untruth in the form of the #WASPI bung? And take out the Brexit fudge from the Tories and they're fewer than Labour.

Obviously this does't take into account misleading actions or preventative actions such as rebranding social media account, dodging interviews etc.
