As an #European citizen I'm shocked at what is happening here. This sort of thing has only ever been discussed in the harshest authoritarian regimes on the planet, namely Communist China. We are living in a democracy! What the hell is happening to this world? #SaveOurInternet

Imagine YouTube Content ID, but for everything: blog comments, tweets, Github commits, Instagram photos, replies to newspaper articles, rental listings, dating profiles.

Why not? With IPV6 just give an IP as the content ID. That way modern routing can be adjusted to manage the content. Why stop there. Just give everyone an IPV6 address as a Galactic ID. On reflection ... wait 4 generations to do this. Or, read my up comming book.
