Louis XIV's only senior surviving legitimate line through the former Duke of Anjou wasn't in succession as Philip had renounced the French throne to become Felipe V after the 13 yr War of Spanish Succession. The last King of the French descended from a nephew the Duke of Orleans.

Felipe VI of Spain is the senior male descendant of King Alfonso XIII through his third son, Infante Juan, Count of Barcelona. Louis Alphonse, Duke of Anjou is the senior male descendant of Alfonso XIII through his second son, Infante Jaime, Duke of Segovia who renounced in 1933.

I wonder, has anyone suggested that Carlos, Duke of Parma may in fact be the legitimate King of Navarre, which is now considered part of the Kingdom of Spain.
