Louis XV, King of France ceded the Colony of Canada, along with the rest of New France to George III of Great Britain in 1763. Most senior male line of descent today traces through an uncle Philip, Duke of Anjou & later King of Spain to Louis Alphonse, Duke of Anjou. This family!pic.twitter.com/4f6NY1ef5U

Louis XIV's only senior surviving legitimate line through the former Duke of Anjou wasn't in succession as Philip had renounced the French throne to become Felipe V after the 13 yr War of Spanish Succession. The last King of the French descended from a nephew the Duke of Orleans.

I wonder, has anyone suggested that Carlos, Duke of Parma may in fact be the legitimate King of Navarre, which is now considered part of the Kingdom of Spain. #Monarchy
