true, but it’s multiplayer nature hampered its potential (regarding this particular concept). they couldn’t give material advantages to those who prestige cuz it would make a gigantic grind feel necessary, and less fun. cosmetic was the right choice for them.

Evolve did it by having the monster player being completely stationary and vulnerable when leveling up. I'm not proud to be one of the five people still remember that game.
