    5,000-year-old prosthetic eye made from a mixture of natural tar and animal fat. This incredible object was found near the city of Zabol in Iran. The world's earliest prosthetic eye, which was once painted gold, was worn by an ancient priestess who stood 6’ tall.

    Sad to see this go! A beloved family landmark!

    Someone’s covered up the ‘give peas a chance bridge’ on the m25. This is a sad sad day for mankind. Genuinely gutted, been such an iconic landmark/“we’re nearly home” spot since I was a kid😩😩😩😩

    Nice to find an old punch card still in the back of a book in library – a link from Jacquard’s loom of 1804, via Babbage, Turing, IBM, and Jobs (among others) to the iPhone I’m typing this on.

    We live in a culture of outrage. If we never do more than express outrage at this morning’s news we are being far less than prophetic. We need to reach further, dig deeper, find a substantial vision of hope, not just a reiteration of fury.

    This, pretty much, is is the most common reason atheist friends explain their non-belief to me. Just substitute something else for 'snow'. Atheists are not intellectually sharper than believers they just can't get their heads 'round a God who won't always give them what they want
